History

Japan Exclusive Motors Corporation (JEMCO) in 1995 was formed to Import Engines and Transmissions from Japan. Mr. Engine, Inc. was one of JEMCO’s customers. In 1998, the owners of Mr. Engine formed Japan Direct so they could import their own engines and sell to others as well. They later sold the Engine Installation Business. In 2001, Japan Direct and JEMCO merged as Mr. Engine, Inc. dba Japan Direct. In march 2011 the Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan changed our business as we lost our supplier and had to downsize our operation and focus more on domestic suppliers and products. In 2015, our main supplier in Japan started to resupply engines and transmissions.
